Iso-Trude moves to expand

Iso-Trude, of 1705 Eaton Drive, has purchased the former Integrated Metals Technology building at 17155 VanWagoner Road.

Craig Janusz, Iso-Trude’s vice president, said his firm plans to move into the former Herman Miller-owned building by the end of the year. The new facility will provide five times more indoor operations space.

“We've been looking for a facility for the last couple of years,” Janusz said. “We tried to stay in the city, but we could not find any available suitable sites and we couldn't expand our current site.”

Iso-Trude, which manufactures components for the automotive, medical, furniture, window and door industries, currently operates in a 40,000-square-foot facility and uses 30,000 square feet of outdoor space.

The 19-year-old Iso-Trude operation will expand to 220,000 square feet at the VanWagoner site.

“We wanted to stay in the area and support our local community,” Janusz said. “With this move, we're hoping to continue to grow the business and continue to expand our employment.”

Janusz said any new hires will be market driven and that it's too early to estimate how many jobs may be created as a result of the move.

The Spring Lake Township Board welcomed the new business earlier this week by granting two industrial facilities exemptions.
