The Republican leader was in Toronto on Monday to announce plans for the opening of a Michigan-Canada trade office in partnership with the Council of Great Lakes Governors and to address the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships. Snyder said that with the bridge agreement in place, the benefits from Michigan-Canada cooperation "are even greater."
The visit also included a scheduled meeting with Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty.
Snyder has been a big backer of the new bridge, which got a big boost Nov. 6 with Michigan voters' rejection of Ambassador Bridge owner Matty Moroun's ballot proposal to require voter approval of competing international crossings.
