The east side of the building is again open to the public.

Belknap said there was a “massive clog” in one of the two lateral sewer pipes that serve the Village Hall. The clog was cleaned, the pipe replaced and two exterior cleanouts were added.

The problem was discovered late Tuesday afternoon. A portion of Buchanan Street was closed while the work was being done Wednesday and Thursday.

Crews will have to wait until weather permits them to patch the street and sidewalk, Belknap said.

A repair cost was not available.
