Siren test at noon

Tribune Staff • Jul 21, 2015 at 12:17 PM

Ottawa County Emergency Management will coordinate the test this month utilizing individual jurisdiction activation tones that sound in sequence throughout the county.

This means that instead of sounding all county sirens simultaneously, several sirens in one area are activated, then the following area, etc., until all sirens in the county are tested. Some communities may hear the sirens slightly after the noon hour as each area is activated separately, one after the other.

The sirens will sound for 1-3 minutes.

Monthly tests will occur on the first Friday of each month through November. The next scheduled test is April 5.
