Ottawa County judge suspended

WZZM-TV • Jul 21, 2015 at 12:33 PM

The state court explained its decision involving Judge Kenneth Post in a 43-page order released Wednesday.

The suspension was previously recommended by the Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission, following an incident involving the 58th District Court judge in 2011. In that case, Post held attorney Scott Millard in contempt of court. The came after Millard advised a client to not answer the judge's question about illegal drug use, to avoid self-incrimination.

In an earlier document filed with the Michigan Supreme Court, Post admitted his behavior was rude and accepted the Judicial Tenure Commission's recommendation. Post said he wanted to put the matter behind him so he could focus on serving the community.

Post's suspension takes effect May 22.
