The department said April's unemployment rates ranged from a low of 4.8 percent in the Ann Arbor region to a high of 11.2 percent in the northeastern Lower Peninsula.
Ottawa County’s jobless rate dropped one full point to 5 percent in April. Muskegon County’s rate also dropped one full point to 6.9 percent.
