The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Ottawa County until 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Heavy rain fell in Grand Haven starting at about 10 p.m. as the storm moved east-southeast at about 30 mph. Rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches fell in about an hour's time.

Excessive runoff from this storm is causing minor flooding of small creeks, streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as other drainage areas and low-lying spots.

There were numerous reports of street flooding in Grand Haven at about 10:30 p.m., with a few vehicles stuck in deep water at Washington Avenue and Seventh Street, according to a weather bureau report.

Penny-size hail and flooding was reported at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds north of Holland shortly after 11 p.m., and many reports of trees and wires down across the county. A spotter reported quarter-inch-size hail near Spring Lake at about 10:40 p.m.
