Kelly Miller Circus comes to Grand Haven Aug. 19

Under the big top on Harbor Island on Tuesday, Aug. 19, families will see a show that features tigers, elephants and llamas, not to mention various trapeze artists and fire breathers.

As each circus patron gasps, smiles and laughs during the show, they are contributing to the charity events that the Tri-Cities Kiwanis sponsors.

The Kelly Miller Circus is celebrating 10 years of entertaining local crowds and helping out area children.

“Every year it gets bigger and better,” Bill Swano, Kiwanis circus chairman, said. “It’s the principal charity event for the Tri-Cities Kiwanis.”

Along with animals and high-flying stunts, families can expect to also see hand balancing, clowns, jugglers and other fun performances.

Swano has been the circus chairman for the 10 years that the big top has perched itself on Harbor Island. With the money that the Kiwanis raises, they’ll invite more than 100 kids with disabilities to the circus on Tuesday.
