Bicycling for a cause

Tribune Staff • Jul 21, 2015 at 2:58 PM

This annual ride of 146 miles – Montague to Bay City – had at least 15 riders from the Tri-Cities area.

Some participates chose to use this as a fundraiser, with John Leitner and Jim Keur together raising more than $1,500 in donations from the community for the JDRF. This was both their second time riding in the event.

In total, the ride raised more than $21,000 to help find a cure for type I diabetes. Through various fund raising activities, JDRF spends over $100 million per year in research to help find a cure for type I diabetes.

Next year’s ride is on Aug. 8, 2015.
