Last year’s ArtPrize attracted a conservative estimate of 400,000 people, said Todd Herring, the event’s marketing and communications director.
The public and a jury will vote for artists in each category consisting of 2-D, 3-D, time-based and installation. Voting begins at noon Sept. 24, and the second round of voting begins at 2 p.m. Oct. 5. The juried awards nominees will be announced Sept. 29.
Winning artists will receive $20,000. The jury will also award a $20,000 Outstanding Venue award. A $200,000 grand prize will be awarded for a public vote and a juried vote.
Winners will be announced at 8 p.m. Oct. 10, and the 2014 ArtPrize wraps up two days later.
