Roy was born April 4, 1935, in Center Ridge, Arkansas, to Orville and Polly (Williams) Etheridge. He attended high school in Arkansas and was active on the basketball team and in amateur boxing.
Roy married Patricia Miller at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Robinson Township on November 6, 1954. They recently celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Roy was employed by Bastian-Blessing for 35 years, where he worked as a stainless steel finisher. He was a member of St. Patrick's-St. Anthony's Catholic Church. In his retirement years, Bud enjoyed spending the winter months in Bayonet Point, Florida. He would keep busy around the house and often had projects going on that included working with wood. Bud enjoyed listening to old country-western music, playing a round of golf and reading a good book, but most of all spending some time with his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Pat; children: Deb Etheridge of Shelby, Kathy (Scott) Kamps of West Olive and Jeff (Lynn) Etheridge of Hamilton; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; two sisters, Mary Hamlett and Betty Cude; two sisters-in-law, Delorce Etheridge and Barbara Brunette; and two brothers-in-law, Robert and Richard Miller. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Jack, G.W. and Charles Etheridge; and one sister, Faye Buck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 7, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's-St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Charles Swartz presiding.
