Grand Haven (4-7 overall) hosts O-K Red Conference rival Rockford in a doubleheader today.

Western Michigan Christian defeated Montague 18-8 in five innings on Monday at Marsh Field in Muskegon.

WMC received 4  2/3 innings of solid relief from junior Chase Sutter, who allowed two hits and struck out four.

Matt Wisen and Tim Schuitema each had three hits for WMC. Austin Sandin and Omari Lewis each added two hits.

A goal with less than six minutes remaining in the game gave host Western Michigan Christian a 1-0 win Tuesday over Holland Black River.

The Lady Warriors (4-5 overall, 2-2 River Valley Conference) managed six shots, finally finding the back of the net from a nicely placed shot by junior Timera Crosby from fellow junior Rachel Karsten’s feed.

“There was so much frustration throughout our team as we did not play well in many areas of the game, but as winners do, they still found a way to win despite not really being dialed in,” WMC coach Dan McAllister said.
