GH boys, girls track teams second at W.O. Invite

Grand Haven’s Jordan Keefe continued her outstanding junior season by winning four events, while classmate Morgan Hawver contributed to three first-place finishes.

Keefe and Claire Reierson combined to pole vault 20 feet at the relay event to set a new meet record.

The team of Jenna George, Cristina Perez, Hawver and Keefe ran their fastest 1,600-meter relay time of the season to win that event in 4 minutes, 7.1 seconds.

Grand Haven also won the 800 relay with Hawver, George, Keefe and Grace Kendra finishing the event in 1:56.1.

The distance medley team of Perez, Rachel Eikenberry, Priscilla Vanheest and Laura Addison took first in 12:55.1

The Bucs’ final win came in the sprint medley event as Alex Schurkamp, Hawver, George and Keefe won with a time of 1:56.1.

The Buccaneers’ boys also placed second at the West Ottawa Relays, finishing just two points behind Grand Rapids Christian.

Grand Haven’s distance 12,800 relay team of Joe Duff, Ryan Duff, Dylan Tarr and Will Swain ran a winning time of 40:46.9. The Bucs also won the distance medley relay with Ryan Duff, Hagen, Shalk Vanniekerk and Joe Duff turning in a time of 10:53.2.

Spring Lake also competed in the event. The Lakers took fifth in the 1,600 relay, the sprint medley and the shuttle hurdles; and sixth in the 400 relay, the 3,200 relay, the 800 relay and the distance medley.
