“The girls had a beautiful ceremony and then when the whistle blew for the first draw, we had a sloppy start,” coach Kim Vincent said. “After the longest minute of the game, I could see them start to gain their composure and control. Our passing and catching came together, and they took control of the ball.”

Yoas finished with nine goals and an assist in addition to two ground balls, two caused turnovers and a draw control. Klingenberg added four goals, a caused turnover and six draw controls, while Sandi Fredricks added two goals and two assists.

The Bucs continued to play well in their second game of the day as Fredricks poured in five goals in a victory over Northview.

Yoas added three goals and two assists, while Klingenberg had three goals and a draw control.

Jordyn Landsman had a goal, while Brittaney Anderson and Regan Rohrs each had an assist and Karen Lomeo had two draw controls.

“With such a strong start, we took this as an opportunity to sub in some of our less experienced players who we’ve brought up from our JV team,” Vincent said.

Vincent noted that goalie Paige Sloan saw her first action in goal and made four saves.
