Grand Haven wraps up its regular-season O-K Red schedule on Tuesday at Grandville, then will compete in the postseason league tournament beginning next Thursday.

Junior Varsity: Grand Haven dominated Hudsonville, winning 8-0. Claire Borchers scored a hat trick for the Bucs (10-1). Rachel VanZytveld, Taylor DeWitt, Abby LaLonde, Roxy Glasser and Emily Sexton scored single goals for Grand Haven, while Mallory Beswick had a pair of assists. Veronica Booth recorded the shutout in goal.


Spring Lake wrapped up a perfect 7-0 record against Lakes Eight Conference competition with a 2-0 win over Ludington on Friday.

The Lakers dominated the game but struggled scoring against the Orioles.

Katie Smith got Spring Lake on the board when she scored off an assist from Chezney Peel 17 minutes into the game.

The score remained 1-0 until Katie Albright scored on a rebound of a Kelsey Kippe shot with 17 minutes remaining in the game.

“We know everybody in our conference is good, and we’re having trouble scoring goals, so tight games are going to be what we see this season,” said Lakers’ coach Jeremy Thelen, whose team is now 8-5 overall.

The Lakers are the top seed in next week’s Lakes Eight Conference tournament and will host eighth-seeded Fremont on Monday.
