Motivated Trojans sweep doubleheader from rival Lakers

At first, the mule would cry every time it would get dirt thrown onto its back. But after time, the mule realized it needed to shake off the dirt and step up.

By fighting through panic, shaking it off and stepping up, the mule eventually was able to make its way over the wall of the well.

“That’s exactly what we did tonight,” Dorman said, after his team put together two late-inning rallies to sweep rival Spring Lake, 3-1 and 10-5. The sweep — Fruitport’s first over Spring Lake since 2002 — helps the Trojans gain sole possession of second place in the Lakes Eight Conference. With league-leader Fremont splitting with Tri-County on Tuesday, the Trojans (18-9, 8-2 Lakes Eight) sit one game behind the Packers in the standings.
