Bucs' Stenberg ready for East-West All-Star Game

“It’s great talent all the way around,” Stenberg said on Thursday during a break between three-a-day practices at Central Michigan University — the host of the game.

“Everyone here is the best of their team. There’s not those few players out there who aren’t as talented. Everyone here was a team leader on their high school team, so it makes (practices) really competitive.”

The contest will kickoff from CMU’s Kelly-Shorts Stadium at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The game features 88 of the best senior high school players in the state as selected by a group of MHSFCA member coaches.

Stenberg, who will continue his football career at the Unviersity of Toledo, is the second Grand Haven player in the All-Star game in as many years. Jordan Goetz played in the game at MSU’s Spartan Stadium in 2009.
