Volleyball roundup: Bucs suffer painful loss

Alli Johnson had 29 digs for the Bucs, while Jami Hogeboom had 48 assists and two aces.

Junior Varsity: The Buccaneers beat the Falcons, 25-23, 25-18, improving to 18-6 overall and 3-1 in league play. Paige Holman, Paige VanOordt and Amy Kober had four kills each. Jenny VanTol and Rachel VanZytveld each added 10 digs.

Freshmen: Grand Have fell short against East Kentwood, losing 23-25, 25-17, 15-9. Meagan Burke paced the Bucs with five aces to go with four kills and two digs. Sophie Stoepker added 13 assists, three digs and two aces.


The Warriors downed NorthPointe Christian in four games, 25-15, 19-25, 25-16, 25-22.

Elyse Ray finished with 11 digs, 11 kills and two blocks, while Julie Merz had 33 assists, 10 service points and two aces for the Warriors.

Vanessa Eekhoff added two blocks, nine points and three aces.

Rachel Bruinsma had 15 kills and Ashley Ott 16 digs.
