GH water polo hoping for a closing surge

“We had a good first half, but in the second half, it went downhill,” said Grand Haven senior Ben Bailey, who had three of the Bucs’ seven goals. “Not all of these guys are used to playing such a high-intensity game. Our team is really young. We have two seniors playing varsity and two or three guys on our starting line are sophomores.”

That group came out poised against a team ranked in the top 5 in the state Tuesday, trailing 6-4 after one quarter and 9-5 at halftime.
