SL tennis 14th at state meet

The Lakers earned four points, all coming during Friday’s first day of play.

On Saturday, Detroit Country Day wrapped up the state title with 34 points. St. Joseph was second with 28, followed by Forest Hills Northern with 24.

The Lakers’ points came from their No. 1 and 2 singles and their top two doubles flights.

Ryan Fedewa earned a point for his win in the opening round at first singles, while Garrett Goldman also won his opening match at No. 2.

The Lakers’ top doubles pair of Nic Parnell and Michael Hartliep opened with a win over Haslet, while the No. 2 team of Stuart Velarde and Harrison Palmer won over Trenton.
