Spring Lake fell to rival Coopersville, 49-35, while Fruitport came up short against state-ranked DeWitt, 28-6.

At Coopersville, the Lakers twice led by 14 points in the first half, but the Broncos exploded for four consecutive touchdowns in the second half.

“We had some peaking moments in the first half, but unfortunately, we have to be able to play four quarters if we expect to win,” said Lakers’ coach Jerry Rabideau, whose team falls to 6-3.
