Bucs fizzle down the stretch in loss to Traverse City Central

The host Buccaneers couldn’t deliver in the clutch, however, as the Trojans scored a three-point play late in the game to take home a 51-48 victory.

The loss drops Grand Haven to 1-2 on the young season.

“We tied it up, then they scored on and an-one to put them up three,” Bucs’ coach Steve Hewitt said.

The Buccaneers called a time out with around seven seconds remaining, setting up a potential game-tying shot. Alex Edison’s 3-pointer came up short, forcing the Bucs to foul.

Central missed its free throws, but Grand Haven only had time for a desperation heave at the buzzer, which didn’t find its mark.
