Fruitport falls to 2-3 overall following the non-conference contest, while Comstock Park improves to 6-0.

Fruitport received a season-high 18 points from senior center Amelio Flores — including four of the Trojans’ seven 3-pointers — but it wasn’t enough. Comstock Park countered with a game-high 25 points from Ryan Schall.

Senior Mike Reyes chipped in with 16 points for Fruitport and junior Tyler Fehler added nine.

The Trojans are off until Tuesday when they travel to Coopersville — the third in a string of five-straight road games for Fruitport.

Fruitport captured the tournament title at Coopersville on Wednesday, as the Trojans went unbeaten against five opponents.

The Trojans defeated the host Broncos (41-33); topped Mona Shores (48-34); rolled past Grand Rapids Union (54-24); and routed both Zeeland East (60-17) and Hudsonville Unity Christian (60-21).

Fruitport had a pair of wrestlers finish 5-0 at the event, led by 135-pounder Dakota Zimmer, who had five pins. Dakota Gordon recorded three pins among his five victories at 160 pounds.

Heavyweight Kylan Sherman had three wins and three pins during the day, while Andrew Bumda (103 pounds), Cameron Butler (112), Tommy Martinez (119), and David VanBergen (140) each finished 4-1.
