Haven JV girls basketball keeps on winning

Fruitport came up short against Ludington, losing 54-28. Hayley Richards scored 10 points for the Trojans (7-7, 4-5 Lakes Eight). Bre Burns addeds even steals, while Alexis Black and Caitlin Hughey each had five rebounds.

WMC defeated Freedom Christian, 46-17. The Warriors had a balanced scoring attack with Anneliese DeKam leading the way with eight points and Alyssa Wright, Jessica Knoll and Melanie Weesies each adding six points.

Freshmen

Grand Haven defeated Muskegon on Thursday, 35-26. Shayna Thomas led the Bucs with 12 points, while Amy Kober had seven points and six rebounds and Katelyn Messer totaled six points and eight rebounds. Sawyer Overway also swiped seven steals for the Bucs (11-4, 7-2 O-K Red).

BOYS

Junior Varsity

Grand Haven needed double overtime to get past Muskegon, 51-43. Marcus Tumblin poured in 17 points to go wtih six reboiunds, while Adam Abraham had three blocked shots and five rebounds. Tanner Jonas canned a key 3-pointer for the Bucs (10-3, 6-3 O-K Red). David Zuidema added eight points, while Chad Mattson chipped in with six and played a solid floor game.

Freshmen

Grand Haven suffered just its third loss of the season, dropping a 46-38 decision to Muskegon. Noah Lein led the Bucs with nine points, BJ Nahal scored eight and Nic Holwerda grabbed seven rebounds. Cam Shelton also had eight rebounds and three steals for the Bucs (10-3, 6-3 O-K Red).

Spring Lake edged NorthPointe Christian, 42-40. Chris Boychuk paced the Lakers (6-3) with 13 points. Kaden Kendall hit a key 3-pointer late in the game, and Zach Montgomery sank some late free throws to seal the win.
