Hope becomes the first team to complete a perfect record in the MIAA in 12 years. The Flying Dutchmen (24-1) have won 20 games in a row and are currently ranked No. 1 in NCAA DIvision 3.

Next up for Hope will be a third meeting with their longtime rival, Calvin College, in the MIAA Tournament.

The two teams tip off at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at DeVos Fieldhouse. The matchup ends a string of six consecutive showdowns in the league tournament title game.

Hope won five of those games, the lone exception being a 78-76 defeat in 2007 at DeVos Fieldhouse.

Grand Haven graduate Nate VanArendonk continues to be an integral part of Hope’s success. The 6-foot-10 center has started all but one game during the Flying Dutchmen’s 25-game schedule and has posted averages of 7.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and a team-best 1.76 blocks per contest.
