WMC coach Josh Scholma said he is still waiting for the final official results from Mona Shores.
"I was very impressed with how our athletes performed and the determination they showed against two Class A schools,” Scholma said. “I received multiple compliments from opposing coaches about how well WMC did. All around it was a great meet for us.”
Deon Fox won a trio of events for the Warriors: the high jump (5 feet, 10 inches), 110-meter Hurdles (15.8 seconds) and the 300 hurdles (43.8).
John Waller won twice for WMC as he took first in the 100 dash (11.0) and the 200 dash (22.7).
Other top finishers included Jason Jackson, who took second in the 400 (54.1), and the 1,600 relay team of Justin Kollar, Eli VanderVelde, Fox and Jackson, which also finishing with a time of 3:43.4.
In the girls’ competition, Elyse Ray won the high jump, clearing the bar at 5-0. She edged out teammate Rachel Bruinsma, who was second at 4-8.
Miya Oakes placed second in the long jump (14-9), while the 400 relay team of Angel Murdaugh, Keideesha Gordon, Rayonee Grant, and Miya Oakes took second in 55.5 seconds.
