The Lakers shot a 209, which was 19 strokes worse than their score in their first conference competition but still well ahead of the rest of the field.

Tri-County was next at 218, followed by Ludington (225), Fruitport (240) and Fremont (241).

Karissa Raschke led the Lakers with a 48, followed by Emma Conroy at 52, Faith Lee at 54, Ginny Olszewski at 55, Kayla Krueger at 57 and Maddy Johnson at 58.

The Lakers will compete in the North Pointe Christian invitational on Monday.

Grand Haven finished a disappointing sixth at Wednesday’s O-K Red Conference preseason meet at Macatawa Legends with a team score of 423.

Hailey Watkins shot a team-low round of 103 for the Bucs.

“She just had a super front nine,” coach Roger Glass said. “She shot a 43, her career low. Then she had some blow-up holes on the back nine and had a 60.”

Martha Ramsey shot a 106 for the Bucs. Kaelie DeVries shot a 106, while Kira Glass and Stephanie Boerma each shot a 108.

“What we have to do is get that 423 down to around 400,” Glass said. “A 401 took third place, so we’ve got a little work to do, but I was happy with the way everyone played.”
