Victory smells sweet for GH golf

On Wednesday at Grand Haven Golf Club, the losing coach had to endure a lengthy whiff of one of the golf shoes from the victorious team. And since she broke 50 for the first time in her career, sophomore Amanda Merz’s golf shoe was chosen to satisfy the bet.

Wheeler got off easy, however.

“She keeps dryer sheets in her shoes, so they didn’t smell at all,” Glass said with a grin.

Everything so it seems, was coming up rosy for the Bucs on Wednesday, as they pulled out their second-straight league victory by edging the Panthers by just two shots, 197-199.

“East Kentwood is out front and probably no one can catch them, but if we consistently shoot around a 190, we can compete against anyone else in this league,” said Glass, whose squad is now 2-1 in O-K Red dual meets.
