The Buccaneers' 6-0 victory propels them into Saturday's 4 p.m. league title game against Mona Shores. That game will be played at Buccaneer Stadium.
The Bucs received a hat trick from Kevin LaCroix, while Jon Buitenhuis scored twice and Gerrit Schaap added a single goal.
Assists were provided with Lacroix, Schaap, Derek Braak, Nick Scarpino and Willie Bennick.
Corey Vanderlaan and Chris Semrinec combined for the shutout in goal, with assistance from defenders Nick Kline, Kaan Ozadali, Kennedy Kaufman, Connor Redman and Zach Thomas.
“The weather was really weird in the first half, with high wind gusts and hail for portions of the game,” said Bucs’ coach Aaron Dean. The game was delayed for a half an hour late in the first half because of lightning.
The Buccaneers, who reached the Division 1 state finals a year ago, are looking to finish their season on a high note after a disappointing regular season. Standing in their path is a solid Mona Shores team that defeated West Ottawa on Tuesday, 2-0.
