The Trojans, 8-1 and the champions of the Lakes Eight Conference, were the third seed in their Region 3 district tournament and will face the second seed, Grand Rapids Christian.

The Eagles also finished 8-1 and were champions of the O-K White.

Christian is second in the Division 3 state rankings coming off last Friday's 21-7 win over Lowell.

The Eagles' loss is to Ohio powerhouse Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller.

The two Zeeland powerhouses will meet in the other side of the district bracket, with 6-3 West visiting undefeated and No. 1-ranked East.

Spring Lake had a chance to make the playoffs with a 5-4 record, but was not included.

Muskegon Catholic Central, on the other hand, qualified with a 6-3 mark. The Crusaders will host Vestaburg in an opening-round game.

The date and times of the opening-round playoff games will be announced later this week, with most games taking place on Friday night.
