Grand Haven came up short against Hudsonville on Thursday, 47-44. Noah Lein scored 10 points for the Bucs, while Nic Holwerda added 10 points and 10 boards for the Bucs (11-7, 3-6 O-K Red).
Western Michigan Christian rolled to a 50-41 win over visiting Muskegon Catholic Central on Thursday. James Godwin led the Warriors with 12 points, followed by Jared Varnado and Ben Mast with 10 and nine, respectively.
Jason Long’s offensive rebound and put-back with one second remaining gave Grand Haven a 49-48 win at Hudsonville. Long finished with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Drew Hewitt poured in 17 points to go with three assists. Levi Overway had seven points and seven boards, while Zach Sinke added five points and three blocked shots.
Spring Lake topped Fruitport, 54-39. Marshal Gabala scored 12 points and ripped down nine rebounds for the Lakers. Sam Vintecea added 11 points, six boards and six steals, while Christian Astrowski had a solid game with seven points for the Lakers (7-7, 5-2 Lakes Eight). Craymer scored 16 points for Fruitport and Randolph added 11.
Grand Haven suffered a 37-32 loss to Hudsonville on Thursday. Michala Rinrquist had 14 points, three assists and three steals, Anna Gagnon totaled seven points, three assists and three steals, and Katelyn Messer scored four points, with 10 rebounds and two steals for the Bucs.
Spring Lake edged Fruitport, 27-22, to wrap up its season with a 15-5 record. Remi French finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds, hiting 9-of-11 free throws. Emily VanWingen added six rebounds and made a pair of free throws in the final minute to help secure the win. Saebryn Peel had a great defensive effort with six steals.
WMC fell to Muskegon Catholic, 42-19. Mikaela Erickson led the Warriors with seven points.
Spring Lake scored a 38-20 win over Fruitport. Liz Lee and Crystal Kinney played great defense for the Lakers, while Nora Adkins scored 15 points and Kayla Krueger added nine.
