Spring Lake’s varsity boys golf team took third at Thursday’s Tri-County Jamboree, but still holds a comfortable lead in the overall league standings.

Ludington won Thursday’s event with a 155, followed by Fremont with a 157. The Lakers shot a 160.

Spring Lake’s total through three league meets is 486, which is 16 strokes better than Ludington and 18 ahead of Fremont.

Ben Kramer and Connor Love each shot a 38 for Spring Lake. George Nietering had three birdies on his way to a 41, and Brendan Peel and Henry McGannon each shot a 43.

“We had better putting, therefore we had better scores,” said Lakers’ coach George Bitner, whose team will compete in the Fremont match play invitational today.
