Lakers' golfers go low in win over Coopersville

Spring Lake’s varsity boys golf team put together one of the best nine-hole scores in school history on Tuesday, shooting a 151 at Moss Ridge Golf Course near Ravenna.

That score helped the Lakers get past host Coopersville, which shot a 174.

According to longtime coach George Bitner, the Lakers’ best-ever nine-hole score is a 147.

Henry McGannon and Connor Love each shot rounds of 37, while Ben Kramer shot a 38 and Bricker Reed added a 39.

“Out of the 54 holes we played, we only had three double bogeys,” said Bitner, whose team hosts the Lakes Eight Conference jamboree today.
