Three-second half goals sent Western Michigan Christian to a 4-2 win Tuesday over host Hudsonville Freedom Christian.
The win brings the Lady Warriors’ record to 9-4-2 and 6-0 in the conference with two conference games left.
Freshmen Brea Frein got WMC on the board first off an assist from Julie Merz, but the Falcons got one back to tie it at 1-1 at intermission.
Freshman Taylor Denison put the Warriors up 2-1 off an assist from her sister, Mykayla Denison, but Freedom again answered to make it 2-2.
Sarah Hughes and Alexys Riksen then each found the net for the Warriors off assists from Merz and Kati South.
WMC outshot the Falcons 18-7 and keeper Lindsey Johnson had five saves.
“This was a good game to get the reserves into some of the action. It was good to see them get some much deserved and needed playing time,” WMC coach David Hulings said. “ It was also good to see them play with some of the starters and get some good touches at a faster pace. Freedom is a slower team than we have played in a while but they bring a lot of effort and intensity each time we play them.”
WMC has a big game on Thursday at Tri-unity and can wrap up the conference title with a win.
BASEBALL DEFEATS FREEDOM 16-1

Seven players had more than one hit for the Warriors. Bourdo drove in four runs and Bailey Heykoop had three RBI’s. Henry DeKam had a three-hit day with two singles, a triple and two RBI’s.
Defensively, WMC played error free ball.
