A reception and gallery walk with the artist is set for after the church service on Sunday, June 29, at 11:30 a.m.

Jensen is an emeritus professor of art at Calvin College. He defines “JazzArt Jauntinʼ” — a term he invented to describe his unique approach to the visual arts — as “a life journey, full of creative adventures, glorifying growth and wonderful surprises.”

Jensen composes his “Pictojaunts” through computer-mediated drawings, using images that symbolize joy, hope and creative imagination. His use of line seeks to illustrate “dancing and prancing while joyfully exploring visual space.”

The exhibit will run through September.

Second Christian Reformed Church is at the corner of Robbins and Sheldon roads.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to noon Fridays. Special arrangements for off-hour visits can be made by calling the church office at 616-842-0710.
