11. Leaked Border Patrol Report Shows Entire World Exploiting Open US Border

most of the human smuggling from Syria and Albania into the U.S. comes through Central America. The report also indicates the routes individuals from North Africa and the Middle East take into the European Union, either to illegally migrate there or as a possible stop in their journey to the United States.

Among the significant revelations are that individuals from nations currently suffering from the world’s largest Ebola outbreak have been caught attempting to sneak across the porous U.S. border into the interior of the United States. http://www.breitbart.com/Breitba...

I can't wait to see Lanny try to spin #13

#13. How's this, TCR?

I'm pleased that Vlad has learned to control his previously undisciplined urge to quote Mr. Frank by reverting to Frank's lisp, i.e., "It was wong to wie". This is an important step in Vlad's growth and development, and I couldn't be more proud of him.

Tri-cities realist

I just found it interesting that a prominent former member of the US House who just happens to be a democrat has said the same thing we've been saying, that Obama lied. I just thought you might have a comment, but apparently Barney Frank is more honest.

Lanivan

I can assure you my comment was made with the utmost in truthfulness, and although it might appear to be a childish attempt to be meaningless and irrelevant, something by which I have occasionally been guilty of in the past, it is, in fact, not.

Oh - and by the way, I like my plan and I got to keep it. No lie.

Tri-cities realist

And how about those that didn't get to keep their plan? Will you finally admit that was a lie to them?

Vladtheimp

Your example is not a lisp - it's a despicable effort to marginalize people of Chinese origin, like Rosie O'Donnell and other liberals seem to favor http://youtu.be/_sJcIYuHZZc

This is a lisp: http://youtu.be/a5NrqqK60OI

Here is the way it should be done: http://youtu.be/XY66ZJ0TFUI

Stephen Colbert is wildly witty, and Catherine Tate is now my favorite comedic actress. Gee - I wonder if Asian people are bringing the Ebola virus into the US??!!

Vladtheimp

It's my observation that Kenyans bring in a far more toxic virus.

$14. I just about spilled my coffee over this - what a guy! Some good, positive, timely, and relevant news on a Tuesday morning.

University President Takes $90,000 Pay Cut to Give a Raise to His Minimum Wage Workers

Raymond Burse recently took over as president of Kentucky State University. With the job—which Burse will do on an interim basis for a year—comes a nice little paycheck to the tune of almost $350,000. Burse, however, took the selfless, and unusual, step of giving himself a $90,000 pay cut so that the lowest paid employees at the university—clocking in at $7.25 an hour—could have their wages increased to a more livable $10.25, the Lexington Herald-Leader reports.

He knows what a university president is worth; perhaps this president will compel all education professionals to take about 1/3 of their salary so that part time and minimum wage workers can get paid more?

Mystic Michael

You think that professional educators are generally overpaid? And that most of the modest earnings they currently have should be taken away from them? Why? So that colleges & universities can attract only the most bottom-of-the-barrel teachers & professors, lacking in qualifications and willing to work for starvation salaries - thereby graduating more and more dummies?

Instead of engaging in a desperate and reckless race to the bottom, why don't we try real, substantial investment in public education - for a change? Unless we do, the system will continue to churn out the kind of people...who believe that professional educators are generally overpaid.

Wolverine49457

I never used the word overpaid but rather the deeper meaning you missed is give your own money to the poor rather than ask everyone else to give their money. One method is being blessed to be a blessing the other is socialism, which side do you fall on? quietly give to people and causes because you are complelled to or stand upon a soap box telling everyone else to?

Lanivan

How do you define socialism? This country operates as a democratic, capitalistic Republic.

There is only one socialist person currently serving in Congress - Senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont.

The closest thing to a socialist program in this country could arguably be the US military.

Lanivan

The most startling thing about this story is that it underscores a very serious problem in this country. And that is the utter lack of understanding or even an acknowledgement of the working poor by those executives that make 400-500 times those of their minimum wage workers.

In the greedy pursuit of more and more vast salaries complete with stocks, bonds, 401K's, perks, expense accounts and all the other trimmings, all the while ignoring the tremendous income disparity that is transforming the country, this story stood out as rather pleasant anomaly.

Vladtheimp

What a Guy!

Nice gesture, if only for the short time he is in the interim position. Interesting that he had been selected to be President of Alabama A&M, but didn't take the job due to "salary issues." Also was CEO of the foundation overseeing the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage which is deeply in debt and didn't have the funds to pay a $705,000 court-ordered judgment for contractor The Mardrian Group or $1.8 million owed to Fifth Third Bank.

But I guess he can afford to forego part of his salary now, since he left his position of Vice President and General Counsel of GE Consumer & Industrial a subsidiary of General Electric Co to become interim A&M President. He was the subject of a Whistleblower lawsuit http://www.corporatecrimereporte... that was eventually settled as part of a larger agreement reached in a putative gender discrimination class action against GE in Connecticut federal court.

Wolverine49457

Maggie Thatcher wisely said "Liberalism is great until you run out of other people’s money" Something tells me he will find a way to ease a tax burden while ending up with much of the money back while cashing in on a phony compassionate display for others.

Lanivan

You just had to burst my balloon, didn't you. My thought process took an opposing direction - that Kentucky has the 5th highest rate of poverty in the Union, with 19.4% of the state population living in poverty. And that of the 640,000 or 15% of the population did not have health insurance, 308,000 qualify for Medicaid.

And that Kentucky Senator, Minority Senate leader Mitch McConnell has allowed almost every law dealing with unemployment, job creation, universal health insurance, minimum wage, veterans health care, and SNAP benefits to be blocked, obstructed, derailed, or filibustered.

Gee - who's the most corrupt?

Barry Soetoro

Oh, Mitch McConnell with the wife that "isn't from KY, she is Asian".

http://www.usatoday.com/story/ne...

Harry Kovaire

Lanivan will note that all those orientals look alike.

Lanivan

You are too childish, Harry. What I was going to note is that Mitch always looks much more normal in pics when he is with his very lovely wife - less of a turtle, and with a more relaxed, less sour and constipated expression.

Oops - sorry! War on Women and all that.....

Nancy Pelosi isn't dealing well with the obvious fact she will not be wielding her gavel again in this lifetime.

Lanivan

The aqua top that Ms. Kelly is wearing is very flattering on her, don't you think?

Harry Kovaire

I am pretty sure that is Ms. Bream.

In the War on Women - all enemies look the same, don't they?

Lanivan

You are correct - I was swayed by the title "The Kelly File", and the fact I've never watched Fox News, but when I do, all the girls look the same. Really - you should check it out some time.

Vladtheimp

You obviously need glasses - educational backgrounds included for your enlightenment. http://james-a-watkins.hubpages....

Harry Kovaire

You never watch Fox News, but relentlessly mock and belittle it to include your misogynistic spit at their talent?

I make fun of the idiots at PuffHo, MSNBC and Kos all the time, but make sure to periodically check in. If for nothing else, to get better comedic material than the fact that Rachel Maddow and Chris Matthews have the same tailor.

If you read more Sun Tzu and less Alinsky, your mind would be stronger.

Lanivan

"Misogynistic spit"? So melodramatic. I admired Ms. Bream's top, and commented on how lovely it looks on her - she's very pretty---> you go flippin' ballistic. I never said one word about her or any Fox News girls' talent, lack of or otherwise, now did I? This is a direction - erroneous, at best - that you chose to take. And you are, again, wrong. I was simply trying to make a childish and irrelevant reply. The problem is that I have control over my sarcasm, and you do not.

If it makes you feel any better, I don't watch MSNBC either. Or CNN.

"Be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness. Thereby you can be the director of the opponent's fate."

Vladtheimp

Hey, we agree on admiration for Ms. Bream's top! (as well as her work ethic and accomplishments http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sha...)

And, I found a new candidate for Fox News Anchorette http://weaselzippers.us/195511-o...
