Mulligan's Hollow master plan update next week

Residents of Grand Haven will have a chance to voice their concerns on Thursday, March 31, about an update to the Mulligan's Hollow Recreation Area master plan. It will be the subject of a public meeting at the Mulligan's Hollow Lodge, 1 Mulligan's Drive. "It's kind of cool because we can be surrounded by our project area," Grand Haven Special Project Manager Julie Beaton said. Representatives from Johnson-Hill Land Ethics Studio will lead the meeting and exchange of ideas about the plan update.

The master plan update will consist of the review of parking conditions, pedestrian and vehicular circulation, sustainable designs, and a comprehensive park improvement plan will be developed.

The goal of the meeting is to get input from park users and neighbors regarding improved access while serving the needs of the stakeholders — including the city, Tri-Cities Family YMCA and the Mulligan's Hollow Ski Bowl Association.

According to Beaton, the event will be an all-day affair, with the morning and afternoon being strictly for city officials and stakeholders to get information on the area, and what they'd like to see in the plan. At 7:30 p.m., the event opens to the public for their input on the plan.
