GH artist to be featured at White Lake Gallery

The featured artist at White River Gallery for the month of April is Bette DelVecchio of Grand Haven, who approaches the media in which she works with flexibility and adaptability. DelVecchio is both a clay artist and mixed media painter. Early inspiration and experimentation is rooted in "the wonderful world of second-hand stores,' DelVecchio explained. "In them, I could find the raw materials for creating anything I could imagine while spending almost no money.

“The pieces I make are simple, reflecting my love of just about all things Oriental,” she continued. “The simplicity emerging in my current work is influenced greatly by a recent trip to China, where I was reminded of my love of a balanced design that is pleasing to the eye.”

DelVecchio won second place in the 2010 Change of Seasons exhibition at White River Gallery and won Peoples’ Choice Award at the Lakeland Artists Spring Show in 2005. She will be at the White Lake Gallery, 8701 Ferry St. in Montague, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. April 27.

The gallery is open 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.
