Former Grand Haven woman turns 105 today

Jean Rink, who lived most of her life in Grand Haven, is celebrating her 105th birthday today. Rink now lives at Sanctuary at McAuley, a Muskegon nursing home. The home held a birthday party for Rink on Wednesday. Rink was born March 31, 1906, in Grand Haven - and lived there until moving to Sanctuary at McAuley. In her lifetime, she's seen nearly a dozen wars and remembers the difficult times of the Great Depression. "I was blessed,' she told a WZZM-TV reporter on Wednesday. "The Lord blessed me for so many years.'
