Nearly 1,100 lose power of Grand Haven’s south side

Nearly 1,100 Grand Haven Board of Light & Power customers on Grand Haven's south side lost power this morning after a transformer tripped at a substation. According to BLP Controller Kristin Kratt, the transformer that caused the problem is located at a substation near D&W Fresh Market, 1116 Robbins Road. "They suspect that it might have been a bird (that tripped the transformer),' she said.
