Grand Haven’s lost driving park is subject of museum lunch talk on Monday

Before the invention of the automobile, Grand Haven was known for its driving park. It was a premier harness racing track, and owners and their horses traveled here to compete. Grand Haven historian Margie Viveen has researched this long lost driving park and will be the featured speaker at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum's Brown Bag Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Monday. The talk will take place at the museum's Akeley location, 200 Washington Ave. in downtown Grand Haven. Those interested in attending are asked to bring a sack lunch.
