West Michigan Symphony to debut ‘On a Wire’ concerto

West Michigan Symphony will present the Michigan debut of "On a Wire,' a concerto it co-commissioned for special guest artists eighth blackbird and orchestra, April 15-16. Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Jennifer Higdon will attend Friday's performance and lead a post-concert discussion of the single-movement, 25-minute concerto that was premiered by the Grammy Award-winning chamber ensemble eighth blackbird 10 months ago. Concertgoers and performers are encouraged to wear blue jeans, or whatever attire makes them feel comfortable and relaxed, for the 7:30 p.m. performances at the Frauenthal Center for Performing Arts in downtown Muskegon.

Individual WMS single tickets are $10, $25 and $35.
