Morning bird walks offered in Ottawa County parks

Ottawa County Parks Department is offering a series of Thursday morning bird walks this spring. All walks will begin at 8 a.m., last about two hours, are for adults and older children, and are canceled if it is raining. There are no fees and advanced registration is not required. Bring binoculars (some loaners available), insect repellent and dress for the weather.

Bird walks are scheduled on the following Thursdays (meet in the parking lot of the respective park):
— April 21 at the Upper Macatawa Natural Area in Zeeland Township.
— April 28 at the Crockery Creek Natural Area in Crockery Township.
— May 5 at Grand River Park in Georgetown Township.
— May 12 at the Nature Education Center at Hemlock Crossing in Port Sheldon Township.
— May 19 at Kirk Park in Grand Haven Township.
— May 26 at the Rosy Mound Natural Area in Grand Haven Township.
