TONIGHT: Village Council to fill vacancy, hold public hearing on Alden Place

Village Council is expected to appoint a new member at 7:30 tonight at Barber School, 102 W. Exchange St. Former Councilman Ryan Kelly recently resigned because he moved out of the village. Applicants for Kelly's seat include David C. Bennett, 917 W. Savidge St.; David Hamather, 108 E. Tolford St.; and Michele Yasenak, 505 E. Savidge St. Jeffrey Ferguson, a former village councilman, said late last week that he is withdrawing his application. The appointment expires Dec. 31.

Village Council will also host a public hearing tonight on proposed plans for the Alden Place development. Last month, the Village Planning Commission recommended approval for the development at the northwest corner of Alden and Savidge streets.
