Purchase tickets or support the Autism Society of West Shore with a monetary donation at asws.org. Tickets are $50 per person. Proceeds from the evening will help ASWS continue to support West Michigan families facing autism through family scholarships, a free speaker series, educational films and community activities.
As a nonprofit organization, the Autism Society of West Shore keeps all money raised in West Michigan. In 2010, ASWS raised money through private donations, corporate sponsorships, grants, a Grand Rapids Griffins night fundraiser and the first Spring Fling benefit dinner.
Spring Fling is held in April, which is National Autism Awareness Month.
Autism is a neurological condition that affects behavior, communication and socialization. It is estimated that one in every 110 children in the United States is diagnosed with autism.
