Grand River flood warning continues

The flood warning continues for the Grand River at Robinson Township in Ottawa County and at Comstock Park in Kent County through Thursday morning. Early today, the river at Robinson Township was measured at 13.5 feet, slightly above its flood stage of 13.3 feet. Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast for the next few days, according to the National Weather Service. At 13.9 feet, several homes in the Vanlopik subdivision will be surrounded by water.

The river was expected to rise to just above 14 feet today, then fall below flood stage Wednesday morning.

At Comstock Park, the river has held at around 14 feet the past two days. It is expected to begin dropping today and fall below its flood stage of 12 feet Wednesday afternoon or evening.
