Sun pops out for Grand Haven church’s Day to Shine

More than 550 people from Covenant Life Church in Grand Haven spread out over the Tri-Cities and Muskegon areas to complete a variety of community service projects on Sunday as part of the church's Day to Shine. "In lieu of traditional services at 9 and 10:45 a.m., everyone gathers at the church at 8:30 then heads out to pre-signed-up for projects,' said the church's communications coordinator, Jessica Scott.

Project Director Diane Wiersma said there were 35 projects for the day — including picking up trash, yardwork and repairing a shower for The Salvation Army.

All of the volunteers were invited back to the church for a lunch.

So great to see a church recognized for serving our community! Wow, 550 volunteers serving others instead of themselves. Nice work Covenant Life congregation.
