City planners to review modified house site plan

Grand Haven planning commissioners are expected to look at amending a building plan involving a retaining wall around a home under construction at 1160 Highland Ave. when they meet at 7:30 p.m. The revised site plan review comes after a work stop order was issued for the wall. City Planner Kristin Keery said architects and builders originally received permission from the city and Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to build a new structure, garage, driveway, retaining walls, decks, porches and utilities per the submitted plan.

According to Keery, a miscommunication occurred in January when the builder and architect came into the city’s Building Department to discuss code-related issues pertaining to a retaining wall, which was proposed for the development and planned to be constructed along the front property line.
