Walkable Grand Haven reaches the North Pacific Ocean

The group Walkable Grand Haven has reached the North Pacific Ocean, which is 31,010,801 steps from Grand Haven. The group reached the milestone on April 29. Members of Walkable Grand Haven are trying to accumulate enough steps to walk around the world by May 15. The program, which is a part of a communitywide initiative designed to promote physical activity and health to all citizens, began Jan. 15. It allows participants the opportunity to track their steps online and convert daily activities into steps.

To walk around the globe and get back to Grand Haven, the group needs to accumulate 48,304,800 steps.
