“A grant application was submitted to the (local) community foundation and Tonya Christiansen, owner of Must Love Dogs in the third block of Washington Avenue, continues to promote awareness and raise funds,” Grand Haven Special Project Manager Julie Beaton said. “We still don’t have the financing together — hence, no set schedule to begin construction — but Tonya continues her awareness campaign and fundraising efforts.”
Christiansen said the fundraising efforts include nail clippings for pets, and she also had donation bins set up at local businesses at the beginning of the campaign.
